As part of the British Interplanetary Society's annual conference on extraterrestrial liberty, a diverse group of thinkers are contemplating how denizens of a future Martian colony could counteract the emergence of a dictatorial leader. The gathering, which in year's past looked at how to construct a government in space, aims to determine regulations and safeguards that would prevent the emergence of any would-be interstellar despot, since violent opposition to such a scenario could prove to be calamitous for everyone.
