Fast-Running Robotic Dinosaur

article's image

Scientists from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have created a fast-running bipedal robot inspired by a prehistoric carnivore. Complete with a tail for balance and an Achilles tendon to absorb shock, the robotic Velociraptor can hit a top speed of over 28 miles per hour—that's faster than the fastest sprinter on the planet, Usain Bolt. The design of the robot also helps it to maneuver over and avoid obstacles as it runs. Check out the video here.
