Hubble Finds Giant Halo Around Andromeda
Researchers using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope have discovered a halo of gas enveloping the Andromeda galaxy like an immense atmosphere. The gargantuan halo stretches approximately a million light-years from Andromeda or roughly halfway to our own galaxy. Scientists estimate the giant halo contains about half the mass of the stars within Andromeda. More at NASA.gov.
