Astronomers have detected the largest black hole yet-- an ancient behemoth which contains a staggering mass estimated to contain 12 billion times that of our sun. It is located in the heart of a quasar some 12.8 billion light years from Earth, and is incredibly luminous, some 429 trillion times brighter than the sun. More at Space.com.
