Runaway Star

A runaway star, US 708, is beating a path out of our galaxy, moving at the fastest speed (26 million miles per hour) ever recorded by astronomers. It's thought that a supernova (star explosion) kicked off its flight across the Milky Way. Watch a NASA animation here.
