Oceanic researchers studying the submerged volcano known as Kavachi in the South Pacific were surprised to discover several different species of sharks inhabiting the harsh waters inside the volcano's caldera. The presence of the sharks was particularly perplexing to scientists since Kavachi is an active volcano, which suggests that the creatures are either able to sense any impending eruption and escape from harm or they are unknowingly swimming in an area even more dangerous than shark-infested waters.
