article's image

On Friday, October 24, Google executive Alan Eustace set a new world record for highest free-fall. Donning a custom-made pressurized spacesuit, the extreme skydiver was lifted into the stratosphere by a helium-filled balloon before detaching at an altitude of 135,890 feet and falling back to the planet. During his space dive Eustace reached speeds of 822 miles per hour and set off a sonic boom heard by his recovery team on the ground. Check out the video here.
