The town closest to Stonehenge-- Amesbury in Wiltshire, has been declared to be the oldest settlement in Britain, dating back more than 10,000 years. The finding shows that people were in the area longer than previously thought, and that Stonehenge was likely built by locals rather than European immigrants. More at BBC News.
