Video: Albino Porcupine Spotted in Maine

By Tim Binnall

The staff at a museum in Maine were left scratching their heads earlier this week when they noticed a curious creature roaming the grounds outside their building. The Seashore Trolley Museum posted pictures of the odd visitor to their Facebook page on Tuesday evening after the animal had caused something of a debate among workers who had watched it throughout the day. "We don't know what he is," the museum said, "our first guess was an albino skunk, but now we are thinking albino groundhog."

It would turn out that both theories wound up being incorrect as, thanks to the power of social media, the creature was quickly determined to be an albino porcupine. According to a local media report, the reason for its fluffy appearance is that the animal is a juvenile and, therefore, its quills have yet to fully stiffen. Having solved the mystery of what the creature is, the museum has now turned to more pressing matters: what to name the little guy. So far suggestions have included Snowball, Trolley, and Tribble, after the legendary alien creatures on Star Trek.
