Watch: 'Lake Monster' Filmed in China

By Tim Binnall

An odd piece of footage from China appears to show some kind of sizeable mystery creature lurking in a pond. The proverbial 'lake monster' was reportedly filmed by some bewildered onlookers in the central Chinese city of Luoyang and subsequently popped up online in the country on Thursday. In the footage, an anomalous form, which looks to be around ten feet in length, can be seen slightly emerging from the water before quickly sinking below the surface as the witnesses whisper in amazement at what they are seeing.

Chinese media outlet Dahe News shared the video on their social media account with the question "is this the legendary lake monster?" Not unlike here in America, the responses to the video in China largely centered around prosaic explanations for what kind of creature can be seen in the footage. Some viewers suggested that it is a crocodile or a snake, while others theorized that the 'monster' is merely a school of fish. With that in mind, what's your best guess for the creature seen in the video? Let us know at the Coast to Coast AM Facebook page.
