Sites of Destruction
Author and scientist Charles Pellegrino presented details about sites where great destruction has taken place-- New York’s Ground Zero, the Titanic and Pompeii's sister city, Herculaneum. He investigated the Titanic first hand, traveling underwater in a submersible. The ship remains look "like a giant cockroach on the bottom of the ocean floor that had been stepped on by a giant foot," he declared. The wreckage of the Titanic's stern was reminiscent of what he observed at Ground Zero. He discussed the phenomenon of "shock cocoons" that took place there, whereby certain persons were within feet of explosions and yet remain unscathed. Pellegrino also said there have been eerie tales of people appearing at Ground Zero, such as one Marine, who seemed to vanish into thin air. The anniversary lights at the Twin Towers site have also had a strange impact, he noted, attracting thousands of moths and winged creatures into the light (a photoof this event was previously sent in to us). ... Host: George NooryCampfire Stories
Inspired by the frightening tale of the hook-armed killer of Lover's Lane (read "The Hook" legend at snopes.com), George offered a special 'Campfire Stories' Open Lines.Andrew from Biloxi, Mississippi said he and some friends were sitting on the beach near a casino when they witnessed a 'shadow' run past them and into the ocean. Andrew said he is sure there was no person connected to the shadow, though he did hear splashing noises when the shadow hit the water. A caller from Missouri reported seeing an unidentifiable animal about the size of a grizzly bear with a very long snout and tail. To ensure this strange creature is not hunted, the caller would not disclose the exact location of his sighting. A projectionist from Oregon shared her experiences working at a haunted theater. She claims a ghost named 'Frank' would throw things, growl through the theater speakers, and stare at her from the projection booth window. Using a Ouija Board, the caller was able to communicat ... Host: George NooryNephilim & the Pyramids
Irish author Patrick Heron returned to the show to share "the last few pieces of the jigsaw puzzle" concerning the pyramids and Bible prophecy. The Great Pyramid has a number of stunning mathematical features and could not be replicated today. There is enough stone in it to build a 6 ft. wall that stretches from New York to Los Angeles, said Heron, who believes it is impossible that the Egyptians constructed the Great Pyramid.Rather, he suggested that 5,500 years ago, the Nephilim, who were the "fallen angels" written about in Genesis, built the pyramids and other ancient structures. They were beautiful looking "spirit men," who appeared human but were not bound by the same laws of physics as mankind, he explained. They mated with Earth women during two periods, before the Great Flood and afterwards, he added. Heron said the Nephilim never died, but were entombed in an "abyss" or netherworld. According to prophecy in the Book of Revelation, a spirit man or "star" comes down to ... More »
Host: George NooryBigfoot Roundtable
Researcher Loren Coleman and expedition leader Tom Biscardi were joined byfingerprint technician Jimmy Chilcutt (2nd Hour) and author Smokey Crabtree (3rd Hour) to discuss the elusive creature known as Bigfoot. The evening kicked off with a playing of the song I Still Believe in Bigfoot by Danny Freyer, which was followed by a discussion about the soon-to-be-released Bigfoot video footage from Canada (see below). Coleman said that the creature was photographed from 750 ft. away, so there may be resolution problems, and Biscardi commented that he'd been in touch with the photographer, Bobby Clarke, who impressed him as a reliable witness. Chilcutt reported that the dermal ridges he's studied had been replicated into a cast by Matt Crowley. Biscardi said his group has some hand casts which they hope to show at their upcoming Bigfoot Museum, being planned for a San Francisco location. While he feels we "may be getting very close" to a definitive discovery, Coleman noted that the Big ... More »
Host: George NooryElectricity & Inventors
Science writer David Bodanis made his debut on the show, sharing stories about the development of electricity and the virtuoso scientists who plumbed its secrets. In the early 1800s, he said, Michael Faraday figured out how to harness electricity that could eventually power motors and generators. Later an American inventor named Joseph Henry developed a telegraph system that was then stolen by Samuel Morse, he detailed. Thomas Edison, who grew up fairly deaf from childhood, was hired by corporations in his early career, to copy or devise alternate patents created by other inventors, said Bodanis. At the time someone said of Edison, "that young man has a vacuum where his conscience should be." He also revealed that Alexander Graham Bell was inspired to create the telephone as a way to win over the family of a girl he was trying to court. The final frontier for electricity, speculated Bodanis, will be for it to move into applications inside the human body.He also shared tidb ... More »
