Scientific Mysteries |
|
| Wednesday August 20, 2008 |
Journalist and author Michael Brooks discussed anomalous aspects of science, which he has chronicled in his book, 13 Things That Don't Make Sense. Among the mysteries he touched on: Science can only account for 4% of the universe. The yet-to-be-completely-understood forces of dark energy and dark matter are thought to make up the rest of it. Varying constants-- some laws of physics may have been different in the past.Cold Fusion-- at one time discredited and considered impossible, is showing some success in recent experiments. The WOW signal-- the interstellar emission picked up by SETI in 1977 has never been explained.Homeopathic remedies-- substances so diluted they may only contain a few molecules of the remedy, have demonstrated treatment value.Placebo Effectâ Belief may release chemicals in the brain that make you feel better.Brooks also spoke about the nature of science, and tests being conducted at CERN with the Large Hadron Collider.

'Leap Year' Open Lines |
|
| Friday February 29, 2008 |
During Open Lines, George offered a 'Leap Year' hotline. Several callers who were born on February 29th phoned into the program to describe what it's like having only one birthday every four years.A mother from Encinitas, CA said she gave birth to 'Leap Year' triplets (Anthony, Joseph and Raphael), after previously suffering three miscarriages. When her son, Joseph, was two and a half years old, the caller continued, he informed her that he remembered sitting with God and seeing his Mom when she was teenager. Joseph told her that he asked God if she could be his mother. In the last half hour, George played a classic excerpt from one of Art Bell's 1997 shows, featuring a caller who claimed to be a pilot in the process of flying into Area 51.

God, Man & ET Roundtable |
|
| Thursday June 23, 2005 |
Four panelists joined together in a discussion on the issue of God, Man, & ETs, and shared their reactions to the possibly imminent NASA/ESA confirmation that 'We are Not Alone.'Richard C. Hoagland, the founder and principal investigator of Enterprise Mission, said that at a Mars Express conference, 75% of the scientists felt there was evidence for current life on Mars. He believes there is also evidence for past life on Mars, particularly in the humanoid "face," which has been found in the Cydonia ruins. "Ultimately," he suggested "we are the Martians," as they came to Earth and left their legacy with ancient civilizations. Further, he shared that his latest research into Iapetus, could point towards panspermia having taken place in our solar system. Hugh Ross, who directs the efforts of the Reasons to Believe institute, refuted Hoagland's stance, saying there was no scientific evidence for life outside of Earth. Referencing the Bible, he said that God, a

Cydonia & Ancient Earth |
|
| Thursday October 16, 2003 |
Thursday's main guests, authors Steve Quayle (website) and David Flynn (watcher website) discussed the correlation of artifacts at the Cydonia section of Mars to terrestrial geometry of megalithic structures and ancient belief systems. Flynn noted that the D & M pyramid on Cydonia, with its pentagram shape is symbolically tied to the Pentagon in the US, reflecting the connection between Mars and war. Quayle delved into the ancient relationship between the two planets, citing the term "theurgy" as referring to mankind being given knowledge by beings from above. But he views these superior intellect entities as "fallen angels," who came to Earth to harvest our stock. "Mars is actually the seed of the knowledge of evil," he said, suggesting that the Red Planet may have once been inhabited by giants with 20-30 times the strength of man, who could more readily move the large objects that compose the Cydonia structures.
