Biography:

Detective Gil Carrillo was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff in 1971, started the first plain clothes gang unit in East Los Angeles, and continued working gangs for several years. Detective Carrillo worked as a Homicide Investigator for 21 years, where he was called upon to investigate all types of murders, including serial killings as well as officer-involved shootings. Detective Carrillo helped capture the infamous serial killer, Richard Ramirez, who was known as the "Night Stalker" and was recently featured in the Netflix documentary "Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer."
