Investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe shared cases of high strangeness. In her first report, she detailed the Oct. 4, 2008 encounter of two hunters in Elk County, Pennsylvania who saw mysterious lights and a lime green, glowing humanoid floating across a field behind one of the odd lights. She interviewed UFO/cryptozoology researcher Stan Gordon, who spoke with the hunters. More here.Linda's second report also concerned Pennsylvania-- she looked at increasing "Thunderbird," or Pterodactyl-like sightings in the state, some as recent as May 2008. Again, Stan Gordon, who is based in PA, shared his research, describing one witness account in which a huge bird that stood 4-feet tall and had an estimated 21 feet wingspan was seen up close. See Linda's full report. In a conversation with Dr. Leo Sprinkle, Linda revisited an unusual alien abduction case that took place in Cimarron, New Mexico, in May 1980. Fatima Secrets |
|
| Thursday October 9, 2008 |
Catholic priest, Fr. Nicholas Gruner of the Fatima Center discussed his research into the Third Secret of Fatima. He declared the alleged visitation by the Virgin Mary in 1917, and her message imparted to three young children, to be "the definitive revelation of our time." Based on his research, he said that it is a misperception that the Virgin Mary bestowed three separate secrets. Instead, he claimed that the message is a sequential series of events with the infamous "third secret" being the conclusion. Detailing new information which suggests that the "official release" of the third secret by the Vatican in 2000 was actually incomplete, Gruner revealed that when Sister Lucia wrote down that portion of the prophecy, she divided it into two parts. "One is the words of 'Our Lady' and one is the vision," he said. According to him, the Catholic Church only released the description of the vision and not the words spoken by Mary. Gruner talked at length about the suspici

Near Death Experiences |
|
| Sunday April 23, 2006 |
Filling in for Art Bell, George Noory welcomed Dr. Jeffrey Long, the founder of nderf.org. Long presented an in-depth look at the nature of Near Death Experiences (NDEs). He commented that a recent study that claimed to show a physiological correlate to NDEs (involving REM aberrations) had serious methodology problems and that there was still no medical explanation for the phenomenon. He also noted that some people who have NDEs come back from them with new abilities-- in the psychic and healing realms for instance. Long brought on Kim Sharp of the Seattle chapter of the International Association for Near Death Studies, who shared her near death experience. She described being in a grey "corridor of consciousness" that had sparks of light. Suddenly, the light exploded around her and she found herself "beholding eternity."

Keith from Lake City, Florida shared a story about his friend, who claims as a young boy to have seen a dark figure standing in his bedroom doorway. Keith said his friend watched in horror as the figure sat on the edge of his bed, then got up, walked downstairs and left the house.Several callers commented on the recent UAE port controversy, as well as the 'Devil Channeller' audio clip that George played during the show (see below). UFO Phil phoned in to say that he recognized the Devil Channeller's voice. According to Phil, the channeller sounded strikingly familiar to a voice he was able to record on Mars using a special transceiver. John Lennon Mysteries |
|
| Thursday December 8, 2005 |
Author R. Gary Patterson returned for a discussion on the life and death of John Lennon and mysteries concerning the Dakota where he lived. He also touched on rock 'n' roll myths, legends and conspiracies. Lennon had a fascination with numerology, and with the #9 in particular. He referenced it in several of his songs, and was said to keep the number over his bed. Also very interested in divination, he was reportedly haunted by premonitions of his own death, said Patterson, who pointed out that Lennon may be saying the words "shoot me" at the beginning of the song Come Together. The Dakota apartment building has had a series of ghost sightings and strange happenings. A little girl, appearing in 19th century clothes, said "today is my birthday," to a workman and the next day a co-worker was killed, Patterson recounted. He also noted bad luck that befell some of the people involved in the film Rosemary's Baby which was partially filmed at the Dakota, such as producer William Castle

UFOs in the 50s |
|
| Tuesday August 16, 2005 |
Author Colin Bennett appeared during the middle two hours, talking about intrigue and disinformation surrounding UFO sightings from the 1950s. Ufology especially interests him because it incorporates a wide range of topics-- science, metaphysics, the military-industrial complex, technology and culture. He has written about George Adamski, the 1950s alien contactee, who achieved worldwide notoriety for his alleged telepathic communications with a Venusian called Orthon. Bennett said he thinks Adamski's original encounters and photos had validity, but in later years he started to create false episodes in order to expand on the tale. He also discussed the work ofCaptain Edward Ruppelt, who was assigned to run the Air Force's Project Blue Book-- an investigation into UFO sightings. Ruppelt was "hobbled" in his efforts to present an accurate picture of what was really going on in the 1950s, said Bennett, who also shared his own bizarre UFO encounter he had 25 years ago. Touching on the

The Travis Walton Case |
|
| Tuesday May 31, 2005 |
Travis Walton recounted his experiences that took place in 1975, which became one of the best documented cases of a UFO sighting and alien abduction. With a group of loggers in the mountains of northeastern Arizona, they happened upon a glowing disc-shaped object. The craft emitted a mechanical cyclic sound, a high pitched noise and a low rumble you could feel, he detailed. By himself, Walton approached the disc but was soon hit by a beam of energy, at which point his co-workers fled. His memories of being aboard the craft are fragmentary, but he described being in the presence of three "chalky white" aliens, who were under 5 ft. tall. They had large bald heads and eyes that stared right through him, "as if they knew everything I was thinking and feeling." He saw unrecognizable tools that "gave me the creeps," and were reminiscent of surgical instruments. He said he recalled being taken away from the aliens by four human-like beings who were fair-haired and wore tight blue unifor

Numbers & You |
|
| Monday January 10, 2005 |
Welcoming in 2005, the 'Numbers Lady,' Glynis McCants, returned to the show. A professional numerologist, she uses a system based on the "vibrations" or energy associated with the numbers 1-9, to analyze people, places and events. 2005 is a "7" (2+0+0+5 = 7) and this number is related to water which correlates with all the storms that we've been having, she said. The new year will also be about "spiritual warfare," she continued, with people asking 'what kind of difference can I make?' Certain number combinations follow people around and could be sending a message, she noted. For instance, if you are often seeing 333 (a 9) this might be telling you it's time to get in touch with your family. She revealed that people who have a Lifepath number of "5" tend to be luckier than others, and are more likely to have gambling wins. It's possible to alter the energy around your home and life by using numbers, McCants said. Here are some examples she gave:To bring a new lov

Rock 'n' Roll Curses & Legends |
|
| Thursday July 15, 2004 |
Author R. Gary Patterson shared coincidences, curses and urban legends surrounding the deaths or ill fates of various rock musicians. He listed a number of deaths that were connected to what he called the "Buddy Holly Curse." For instance, Eddie Cochran had a premonition of his death and died shortly after recording a Holly song and Bobby Fuller was mysteriously murdered after getting a hit song from the Crickets (Holly's band). The Allman Brothers (and other artists associated with Macon, Georgia) have had more than their share of bad luck, Patterson commented, citing how Duane Allman and Barry Oakley, both original members of the group, perished in motorcycleaccidents, within a year of each other, with the accidents in close proximity. Jim Morrison and a number of other noteworthy rock stars all died at the age of 27. Morrison's death was shrouded in mystery, Patterson noted, possibly due to an attempt to cover-up drug usage. His body was kept in his Paris hotel room for two da

Paul McCartney: Dead or Alive? |
|
| Monday August 18, 2003 |
R. Gary Patterson (rgarypatterson.com), the main guest on Monday, discussed what he considers to be an "urban legend," the oft repeated story that Paul McCartney died back in 1966 in a car accident. As chronicled in his book The Walrus Was Paul: The Great Beatle Death Clues of 1969, Patterson believes the group may have deliberately planted enigmatic references in their music and album art, such as on the cover of Sgt. Pepper's. Reacting to the controversial website Paul is Really Dead, which claims to show forensic evidence through before and after photographs, that McCartney was replaced by an imposter in 1966, Patterson sent the link to a Forensic Examiner. The Examiner replied via a written response, that such photo comparisons were not forensic evidence because you would need exact angles for accuracy. Patterson also shared his interpretations of various musical clips and backwards masking excerpts from Beatles recordings that were played on the show. In the lyric "he
