Open Lines, Nick Begich

During Open Lines, George offered an 'Unbelievable' hotline. Dave in Texas recalled when he was a child and was invited to watch a Bigfoot film at the home of Roger Patterson (who along with Robert Gimlin shot the famed Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot footage). Dave also said he thought he may have heard a Bigfoot. Michael shared a story about an 18-wheeler truck he saw disappear from the road one rainy night.

Paul in West Virginia described the time he and some friends held a séance in a haunted attic. Paul said he elected to play the part of medium and actually went into a trance, allowing seven personalities to speak through him. After this happened Paul said he had a nightmare every night for three months. Sherry in Kentucky talked talked about a ghost that lives in her dad's house. She believes the spirit is her deceased mother.

In the last half hour, George played audio from his 02/08/08 interview with actress Cassandra Peterson, who portrays late-night horror hostess Elvira.

EMP Attack on US

In the first hour, researcher and lecturer Dr. Nick Begich discussed the possibility of an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack on America. If anybody detonated a thermonuclear device 250 miles above the United States, Begich explained, it would fry every sophisticated electronic circuit, destroy communication systems, and shutdown the US power grid. According to Begich, a non-nuclear device capable of producing a surge of energy could also be used for an EMP attack. Begich recommended keeping paper records and using optical circuits in electronics as a pre-emptive measure against such an attack.
