Frank C. Feschino, Jr., the authority of the "Braxton County Monster" incident (also called the Flatwoods Monster), joined Connie Willis (info) to discuss his investigation into a 1952 UFO wave that involved the sighting of nine ft. tall aliens (view related images). He shared a timeline of events, including UFO sightings along the eastern seaboard, crashed landings, and the cover-up of a USAF jet fighter that disappeared that night. On September 12, 1952, various witnesses said they saw a large egg-shaped craft set down on a hill in Flatwoods in Braxton County, WV, and when they went to investigate, they encountered a tall "monster" emerging from the ship.
The characterization of "monster" was based initially on a sketch artist's interpretation. However, Feschino has suggested that the first 'monster' sighting was actually something encased in a metallic contraption or suit, with eye-like portholes on its head. Witnesses saw beams of light shoot out from the portholes, and the entity/machine was splattering out a kind of hot black oil.
Nearby, in a separate incident the next night, a man was sickened by a terrible chemical/sulfur smell adjacent to a hovering UFO. He and his wife saw the nine-foot-tall "monster" floating toward them from the woods. Compared to the previous night, it appeared to be missing part of its "suit," and the couple observed reptilian or snake-like body parts and limbs inside its encasement. According to Feschino's research, there was a huge UFO flap in the summer of 1952, and he has pinpointed 160 locations for sightings. On the night of September 12th, "there were three damaged UFOs that flew over the mid-Atlantic," with one passing over Washington DC's restricted zones, he detailed, and another of them turning out to be the craft that housed the Flatwoods Monster.
Dark Art
Mister Sam Shearon is a Liverpool-born, British' dark artist' specializing in the unexplained. In the first hour, he spoke about his dark art, focusing on science-fiction and often including elements inspired by folklore, legend, mythology, and the occult. Now based in Los Angeles, on previous trips to the US, Shearon would explore local legends in various states, particularly Bigfoot. In some of his artwork, he has delved into the darker and pagan side of Yuletide, creating images of sinister figures like Krampus (he offers sets of "Creepy Christmas" greeting cards via his website). He also touched on the strange case of the Yosemite Nightcrawlers, anomalous white entities said to be recorded on video.
