The first film of a solar eclipse was recently rediscovered and restored by the British Film Institute (BFI) and the Royal Astronomical Society. Recorded on May 28, 1900, Neil Maskelyne, a magician and filmmaker, traveled to North Carolina to get the footage using a special telescopic adapter. Learn more here.
