2025's Strangest Guinness World Records

As we close the door on 2025, it leaves behind a year rich in eyebrow-raising human achievement. Courtesy of UPI Odd News, here’s a curated stroll through some of the strangest, and most gloriously unnecessary Guinness World Records to grace the planet this year.

Farthest eyeball pop

In a feat that lives somewhere between body horror and party trick, Williams Martin Sanchez Lopez, a Uruguayan native now living in Italy, calmly demonstrated his ability to extend his eyeballs an astonishing 0.74 inches beyond their sockets (seen above). It’s unsettling. It’s impressive. It’s also not something you want to see mid-meal.

Most spoons balanced on the body

Forget the silverware drawer. Abolfazl Saber Mokhtari shattered his own previous record by balancing a jaw-dropping 96 spoons across his body, transforming himself into a human cutlery constellation. Gravity, for once, politely stood aside.

Most golf tees in the hair

California resident Anya Bannasch turned her love of golf into follicular architecture, carefully placing 711 wooden golf tees into her blond hair. The effort was reportedly inspired by fellow record holder Joel Strasser, famous for storing improbable quantities of objects in his beard. Proof that hair is just a storage solution waiting to be optimized.

Most matches held in the nose

Demonstrating both nasal flexibility and intense concentration, 42-year-old Swede Martin Ströby packed 81 matches into his nostrils, all while perfecting a technique to keep them from tumbling out. Breathing was optional. Commitment was not.

Fastest 100 meters running on all fours

Why limit yourself to two legs? Japanese athlete Ryusei Yonee shattered expectations by sprinting 100 meters on all fours in 14.55 seconds. Inspired by the movement of dogs and monkeys, he trained first on sand before graduating to the track, proving that evolution is more of a suggestion than a rule.

None of these skills are likely to appear on a résumé anytime soon, but they remain feats of dedication, creativity, and delightful absurdity. For even more record-breaking oddities, the full top 10 list awaits over at UPI Odd News.
