Civilian SpaceX Flight Splashes Down

The first all-civilian crew aboard SpaceX's Dragon capsule returned to Earth safely Saturday evening, splashing down around 7:00 PM in the ocean waters near Florida. The four-member group spent three days orbiting the planet and sharing photos via Twitter to celebrate their historic flight. "Your mission has shown the world that space is for all of us," SpaceX Mission Control told the civilian crew. After the tourist mission was complete, the fully autonomous spacecraft navigated the dangerous re-entry process, and gently placed the Dragon capsule and its crew into the Atlantic Ocean.
