Costa Rica's Mysterious Stone Spheres

An archaeological complex in Costa Rica known for its mysterious stone spheres has been newly designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Located in southern Costa Rica on the Diquis Delta, the pre-Columbian spheres range in size from 2.3 ft. to 8.4 ft. in diameter-- their origin and purpose remain unknown. More here.
