Demand for Bottled Air on the Rise in China

A Canadian company that sells novelty bottles of fresh Rocky Mountain air has seen a surprising boom in business from residents of Chinese cities suffering under unprecedented levels of smog.

Vitality Air began receiving orders from China about two months ago and now they can barely meet demand for the bottled air.

"Our first shipment of 500 bottles of fresh air were sold in four days," company co-founder Moses Lam told the Telegraph.

The company has also sent an additional 4,000 bottles to China for customers anxious to get their hands on the fresh air.

Amazingly, a two gallon bottle of air produced by the company is currently selling for an astounding $15 in China.

The pre-packaged fresh air has proven particularly popular among wealthy Chinese women who bestow the bottles as gifts for friends and family. Posh nightclubs and senior centers have also begun placing orders for the air.

"In China, fresh air is a luxury, something so precious," Vitality Air's Chinese representative Harrison Wang told the Telegraph.

Although the company's founders admit that their business originated as a joke, the sudden surge in demand for their product from China now has them wondering how they'll manage to supply so many customers.

"We may have bit off more than we can chew," Lam conceded to the Telegraph.

One could almost say that the folks behind Vitality Air can barely catch their breath and, if they could, they might want to bottle that too.
