Exercises in Precognition

Tonight's guests, Jeffrey Mishlove and James Spottiswode, will be inviting people to participate in a precognition experiment(1) that will take place in Los Angeles this Sunday. For those who would like to try peering into the future at home, Jane Robert's book How to Develop Your ESP Power(2) offers some fun exercises.

Roberts, acclaimed for channeling the "Seth" entity, received a message from him about the elusive nature of time. "Physical time is basically meaningless to the subconscious, and...the inner self has at its command a knowledge of past lives," Seth said. Indeed, one may also have access to future events. Along those lines Roberts has suggested a simple exercise to chart one's premonitions and intuitions.

Once a day, at a convenient time, sit down alone, Roberts suggests. "You are going to predict future events for yourself...Merely write: Predictions for (Monday) made Monday 8 A.M. or whatever time you set aside. Then write down the number 1. Now write down whatever comes to mind," she wrote. Roberts said the trick is to not consciously try to imagine what will happen that day or to question what you write. "You may write one word only, or a phrase, or perhaps a sentence...Continue till you have at least five predictions listed for the day," she outlined. In keeping track of your records, Roberts believes you might discover your own hidden precognitive abilities at work.
