The crew of an English ghost hunting show believe they may have inadvertently filmed a legendary spirit said to lurk in underground tunnels beneath a pub.
The odd incident took place at an establishment known as the Rutland Arms in the English town of Newark.
During some downtime while filming an episode of the program Ghost Dimensions, the cameraman briefly filmed the outside of the building in order to get some extra material for the episode.
However the brief bit of footage will likely become the centerpiece of the episode as a dark, seemingly hooded figure can be seen walking past a window on the second floor of the building.
As is often the case, the eerie apparition was not noticed by the crew at the time and was only spotted months later when they were editing the episode.
The team behind the project insist that the whereabouts of every member of the group can be accounted for and, thus, they suspect that the anomaly may have been a genuine ghost.
Should that be the case, it's possible that they managed to film a rather infamous ghost, dubbed 'Cuthbert,' that area residents say is the spirit of a monk who was known to have traveled by way of tunnels beneath the town.
Despite being a part of local legend for quite some time, the footage from the program would constitute the first time that Cuthbert had been captured on film.
Skeptics will no doubt attribute the 'ghost' to being a trick of light and shadow, while more cynical observers may argue that the footage is merely a clever marketing stunt from the TV program to generate some buzz.
