Gigantic Black Hole Discovered

An enormous black hole (said to contain the mass of some 17 billions suns) has been found residing in the disc galaxy NGC 1277 (pictured) that is just a quarter the size of our Milky Way. Scientist Karl Gebhardt declared this is "a really oddball galaxy," and could represent a new class of galaxy-black hole systems. More at Space.com and BBC News.
