A goldfish that was born without a lower jaw has a new lease on life thanks to an ingenious veterinarian who outfitted the creature with a special brace for its mouth.
Dubbed 'Mr. Hot Wing,' the tiny fish was brought to the vet in the hopes of finding a way to help alleviate breathing and eating problems caused by the disability.
Thankfully, Dr. Brian Palmeiro realized that he could fix the problem by outfitting the fish with a special brace that would serve as a substitute for the missing lower jaw.
Crafting the makeshift brace out of a piece of credit card, Palmeiro performed the delicate surgery while Mr. Hot Wing was sedated.
Following the one-of-a-kind procedure, pictures of the enhanced fish found their way online where Mr. Hot Wing became a bit of a viral sensation due to his futuristic face.
Hopefully the newfound fame will prevent Mr. Hot Wing from being teased when he returns to his school of fish.
