To celebrate the start of 2021, the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has published images of six stunning galaxy mergers. The six colliding systems were examined as part of the recent HiPEEC survey to understand the rate of new star creation within such systems. "These systems are excellent laboratories to trace the formation of star clusters under extreme physical conditions," the agency said in its release statement.
