We are sad to announce that geologist Jim Berkland has passed away just shy of his 86th birthday. He appeared many times on C2C over the years, and was known for his pioneering observations about the timing of earthquakes and seismic activity, and their connection to lunar tide cycles, and missing animal reports. He accurately predicted the massive Loma Prieta quake four days before it hit on October 17, 1989. More about his life in the Kenwood Press.
