Strange gelatinous blobs have been washing up along beaches of the US East Coast this summer. While some call them "jellyfish eggs," they are actually thumbnail-sized creatures called salps that can give birth to long chains of clones. The odd little animals are harmless to humans and may even be a weapon against climate change, as they devour algae blooms. More here.
