Mystery of Jupiter's Red Spot Solved

The mystery behind the color in Jupiter's Great Red Spot has apparently been solved. According to new data analysis from the Cassini mission, the spot’s color is a thin dusting on top of white clouds below it, and could be thought of as a kind of UV 'sunburn.'
