New geophysical evidence has renewed speculation that King Tutankhamun's tomb may be connected to a larger, previously undiscovered royal burial complex that could potentially contain the tomb of Queen Nefertiti. Archaeologist Mamdouh Eldamaty and his team used ground-penetrating radar and microgravity surveys to detect subterranean density changes, finding evidence of a possible tunnel network about 30 meters from Tutankhamun's burial chamber. The discovery echoes a 2015 theory by archaeologist Nicholas Reeves that hidden doorways within the tomb might lead to Nefertiti's burial chamber. While such a complex could contain significant archaeological treasures, researchers emphasize that they cannot confirm its existence or any connection to Nefertiti until they gain direct access.
