On the French island of Corsica, a new species of feline has been found, dubbed the "cat-fox." While there have been local legends of such creatures, it's only in recent years that some have been caught and studied. According to experts, the striped tawny-coated animal has notable differences from both domestic cats, and the European wildcat. More here.
