A new sci-fi-like cloaking device could protect soldiers from the shock waves caused by explosions. Under patent to Boeing, the idea is to use a veil of heated, ionized air as a kind of shield that would minimize the damage from blast waves which can cause massive trauma. More at LiveScience.
