Newest Sun Flare

Pictured is the tenth and possibly strongest sun flare yet which erupted at around 2:40 PM ET today. Click here to view a SOHO animation of the flare, or on the picture to see a larger still image.
Earlier in the week, the Cassini probe "eavesdropped" on the Oct. 28th flare. Listen to the radio burst(1), courtesy of Don Gurnett(2), NASA and the University of Iowa.
