'Pocketknife' Spotted on Mars

An anomaly hunter scouring NASA images for something out of the ordinary has spotted what he suspects to be an ancient pocketknife. The discovery was made by Scott C. Waring of UFO Sightings Daily, who noticed the oddity in an image taken by NASA's Mars rover Curiosity back in April of 2016 and made available at the space agency's website. What may be more remarkable than the anomaly itself is the sheer size of the presumed pocketknife.

According to Waring's measurements, just the handle of the weapon is over one foot long. This would mean that, when unfurled in combat, the pocketknife would be double in length to a menacing two feet. In what may be the understatement of the year, Waring mused that "any alien with a hand that big is going to be very tall indeed." Nonetheless, the anomaly hunter believes that it did once belong to an ET who, based on the presumed knife's open position, found itself in a bit of trouble in, ostensibly, its final moments.

Skeptics will of course say that Waring is simply seeing a pair of rocks that, thanks to their position on the Red Planet, happen to resemble a pocketknife due to the pareidolia phenomenon. Whether they'd say the same thing if they were confronted by a giant Marian with an equally formidable knife is another story. What's your take on the latest find from Mars?
