Rare 'Rainbow Clouds' Appear Above the Arctic

In the Arctic circle and surrounding areas, unusual "rainbow clouds" have appeared in the sky for the last three days. Known as polar stratospheric clouds, the dazzling formations are due to frigid temperatures in the upper atmosphere.

Photographer Ramune Sapailaite captured several surreal images of the rare phenomenon in the skies of Gran, Norway. More details available at Live Science.
