Rescheduled Launch Sends Michael Strahan into Space

By Ryan Stacy

After a launch planned for last Thursday was called off because of weather conditions, television personality and former NFL player Michael Strahan finally realized his dream of traveling to outer space. On Saturday, Strahan and five others were reportedly on board the New Shephard rocket that entered space briefly before returning to Earth. The "Good Morning America" co-anchor first got an in-person look at the spacecraft when he was on the scene covering its maiden voyage earlier this year—and today, on its third trip, he was thrilled to be one of its passengers. Among the other notable people who have taken the New Shephard into space are Jeff Bezos, William Shatner, and Laura Shepard Churchley, daughter of the late astronaut Alan Shephard.
