Researchers Identify Most Likely Locations in US for UFO Sightings

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Utah analyzed nearly 100,000 UFO sightings reported to the National UFO Reporting Center between 2001 and 2020. Their aim was to determine how environmental factors, such as cloud cover and light pollution, influenced the frequency of sightings in different regions of the United States. The study produced a map highlighting UFO hotspots, with the western part of the country showing significantly more sightings than other areas, except for a small portion of the northeastern corner. Factors contributing to this concentration include historical connections to unidentified aerial phenomena, such as Area 51 in Nevada and Roswell in New Mexico, as well as outdoor recreational activities in public lands.
