Despite presiding over a city long-associated with the themes of Halloween, the mayor of Salem, Massachusetts was still taken aback when she spotted a 'ghost' lurking in a lamppost.
Mayor Kim Driscoll noticed the creepy anomaly, which resembles a stern-looking face, atop a light outside of a government building and posted a picture of the "totally eerie" visage on Twitter.
Many of her followers delighted in the image, appreciating the ironic setting of Salem for the photo and suggesting that, just maybe, it truly was supernatural.
While that is probably not the case and the 'face' is likely merely a trick of light and shadow, considering the location, one can't help but wonder...
