Strange Creature Dubbed Human's 'Oldest Ancestor'

Researchers studying the fossilized remains of tiny, ancient creatures believe they have found the oldest ancestor to the human species and it is rather repugnant.

Known as a Saccorhytus, the animal measures a mere millimeter in size and lived over 500 millions years ago.

The reasoning behind its relation to human is that the Saccorhytus is the oldest known form of life which scientists say ultimately evolved into fish and then humans.

Some facets of the creature that researchers say can be seen in humans today is its symmetrical shape as well as the presences of skin and musculature.

We'll leave it up to you to draw comparison between the animal's gruesome gaping maw and your least favorite family member.
