The Darkness Awakes: Exorcisms on the Rise

Is evil running rampant? The number of exorcism rituals has reportedly dramatically increased around the world.

Not only have possessed individuals been exorcised but an entire country had to be purged as well, the Catholic Herald writes.

Mexico, the second largest Catholic country in the world, underwent the unprecedented rite of "exorcismo magno" which was said to be conducted under clandestine conditions within the city of San Luis Potosí.

On May 20, 2015, the famed exorcist Fr. José Antonio Fortea joined forces with the Archbishop of Guadalajara and an elite unit of highly trained professional exorcists to perform the country-wide exorcism.

According to the chief exorcist, Fr. Fortea, the extreme demonic purge was performed because it is "is useful in situations in which great violence has been unleashed in a country."

In recent years, a never-ending war among drug cartel warlords has caused the deaths of 151,000 Mexicans with another 26,000 disappearing.

Things have gotten so bad that a unit of elite Latin American priests with ties to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal now specialize in regularly scheduled exorcisms.

In Brazil, one priest conducts "liberation masses" to exorcise church goers every single week. Some of the demons are said to be manifestations of trickster spirits which reputedly plague the area.

Multiple forms of evil manifestations are now spreading across the globe with no end in sight, the Catholic Herald claims. In the Philippines, there is such a demand for exorcists that the Archdiocese of Manila has been recruiting dozens of demon battling priests.

Even in America, deep in the heart of Texas, a bishop, regularly conducts exorcisms on church goers who are said to be possessed by Santa Muerte, the skeletal spirit of the dead.

There are those who believe that Pope Francis himself may have conducted an informal exorcism on a parishioner – one who was brought to halfway around the world by a priest who claimed the man was "demon-possessed."

Do you believe an "army of darkness" has intensified their assault on humanity?
