The Picture Museum of Sorcery, Magic & Alchemy describes the scene, as one witch holding up the mirror for another witch, with a face of an old man in the mirror. Such "magic mirrors" were said to be used for divination, where people could be seen appearing in the mirror, performing actions that would take place in the future.
