A mesmerizing piece of footage from Canada appears to show some kind of large creature lurking in a forest and many suspect that the beast is Bigfoot!
As with most such videos, there is an air of mystery about the footage as all that is known concerning its origin is that it was purportedly filmed by a family "out for a walk near a river in the Canadian wilderness."
It then, somehow, wound up online earlier this month and has just begun to garner attention beyond Bigfoot research circles.
Despite the dubious chain of custody and vague backstory, the video is rather riveting, requiring multiple viewings to truly 'see' the creature.
A first watch yields a sense of surprise when the static view of the forest suddenly comes to life as something large and dark starts moving amidst the trees.
Once one knows where to look, the video becomes pretty compelling, since the figure is ambiguous enough that it just might be Bigfoot.
Unfortunately, the creature moves away from the camera and further into the forest, leaving the viewer without a truly clear view of the mystery animal.
That leaves all manner of other potential prosaic explanations for the creature in play and, as always, the skeptics' response that the video is simply shenanigans cannot be discounted.
Nonetheless, the footage is an interesting potential glimpse of the proverbial pop icon that is Bigfoot in a natural setting rather than on TV selling beef jerky.
