An Amazon ritual involving the capture of an anaconda took on epic proportions as a tribe unearthed an incredible 17-foot long creature while a BBC film crew looked on in awe.
The tradition is seen as a showcase of bravery and strength for warriors of the Waorani tribe in Ecuador and promises 'spiritual power' for those who can accomplish the daunting task.
In this particular instance, it took a team of tribe members to wrestle the enormous snake from the waters of the jungle.
BBC wildlife filmmaker Gordon Buchanan was even recruited to lend a hand when the monstrous size of the beast became more apparent.
Once they had finally wrangled the colossal creature, it measured an astounding 17 feet long and may have been the world's biggest anaconda ever seen.
We're guessing that the men who took part in the unbelievable exercise were seen in a whole new light once word of the feat spread throughout their village.
