The humanoid robot known as Atlas has been recorded walking a 'tightrope' of cinder blocks at the Institute for Human & Machine Cognition in Florida. The footage shows Atlas walking across a narrow pathway of zigzagging and straight blocks utilizing a path planning algorithm to calculate each step it should take. Researchers hope one day this technology could be used for dangerous rescue missions.
