Watch: Monkey Plays Pong with Mind

A nine year old Macaque named Pager can play the video game Pong using only his mind. The breakthrough technology developed by researchers at Neuralink involves an implant in Pager's brain which records how his neurons fire while moving his hands during game play. A computer program analyzes and interprets this data to make predictions about what the monkey's hands would do with the joystick unplugged. In the footage, Pager can be seen moving the video paddles up in down on the screen using only his thoughts. One day brain-computer interfaces could allow people with paralysis and other related conditions to control computers without the use of physical input devices.
