World's Smallest Hard Drive

Scientists have constructed the world's smallest hard drive using just 96 atoms. The miniscule atomic drive can hold one byte of data; conventional hard drives use 500,000,000 atoms for each byte. This technological leap could one day lead to drives with capacities 200 to 300 times larger than today's storage devices, such as an iPod Touch capable of holding millions of songs.
