Ken Alibek

Ken Alibek defected to the US in 1992 after serving as the director of a huge bio-weapons research and production facility in Stepnogorsk in the Soviet Union. He currently leads medical and scientific research programs dedicated to developing new forms of medical protection against biological weapons and other infectious diseases. He has extensive knowledge of bio-processing, biological weapons threat analysis; antibacterial and antiviral drug development; development of regimens for urgent prophylaxis and treatment of the diseases caused by biological weapons; and mass casualty handling.
