Private Space Travel & Mars

Date

Hosted byGeorge Noory

Filling in for Art Bell, George Noory hosted scientist Sir Charles Shults III of Xenotech Research. He discussed advancements in private space exploration as well as his research into energy devices and Mars artifacts. The private sector will show huge growth in space travel over the next 20 years, he said, citing a number of big players such as Burt Rutan's Scaled Composites, Bigelow Aerospace, Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic, and Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin. In addition to travel, companies like Carbon Designs will make strides developing the transport system known as the "space elevator," he said.

Shults shared news of his Solar Generator project which offers increased efficiency to solar cells, and is being developed as a compact power generator for home use.

The "fossil" artifacts he has detected on the Martian surface are confirmed by hundreds of examples in NASA photos, and such symmetries would be impossible to create via mineral means, he stated. He explained that 3-D images from Mars reveal shapes that can't be seen in flat photos.

Bigfoot Update

First hour guest, Prof. Jeffrey Meldrum, the author of Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science, reacted to a recent AP story that reported on a colleague of his at Idaho State University who is critical of his Bigfoot research. Some academics ignore the spirit of exploration and overlook new ideas, said Meldrum. His interest in Bigfoot began around 10 years ago when he came upon a fresh set of unusual footprints. He estimated that the number of Bigfoot in the western United States is probably 1,000 or less.
