Psychiatric Drugs / UFO Disclosure

Hosted byGeorge Noory

In the first half, Dr. Peter Breggin reported on problems associated with psychiatric drugs. A new study found that warnings about the risk of suicides in teenagers prescribed antidepressants may have backfired, as even though there's been a drop in prescriptions of these medications, there's been a rise in suicide attempts. The study also reported a rise in "psychotropic drug poisonings," though they don't give specifics about that, he stated. Suicidality isn't the only problem with these drugs for teens-- their sexual development can be forever impaired, and when they reach their 20s and 30s, they don't have sexual feelings, he cited.

"When you give these drugs to children, 40-60% of them get behavioral abnormalities like mania, and loss of self control," Breggin continued, adding that antidepressants do far more harm than good in children. Noting the difficulty of withdrawing from psychiatric drugs, he suggested it be done carefully under the monitoring of a therapist. Discussing his early studies of antidepressants and pharmaceutical companies like Eli Lilly, he found "systematic negligent behavior on the part of these drug companies," and "since then, they've been paying billions of dollars...to the Attorney General of the United States for their various malfeasances." The first big trial on Prozac was fixed so that the drug company would win, and the people who brought the suit were paid off, he detailed.

In the latter half, UFO disclosure activist Stephen Bassett spoke about his 2013 Citizen Hearing on Disclosure and his plans moving forward. What's planned next is the Congressional Hearing Initiative, which would bring the same type of military/agency/political witnesses from the Citizen Hearing to testify in front of congressional representatives. Though this Initiative has been delayed from its original timetable, Bassett said he plans a PR blitz/social media campaign from November through January, and will send DVDs of the hearings to gain interest from Congressional reps.

Contemplating a post UFO disclosure era, the first couple of years will be unprecedented, but he does not believe the acknowledgment of ETs and their technology will be of negative consequence. Bassett would be supportive of an amnesty program and truth-in-reconciliation as well, allowing for people to come forward without censure to reveal what had formerly been shrouded in government secrecy.
