Mothman & Men in Black / Open Lines

Date

Hosted byIan Punnett

In the first half of the program, guest host Ian Punnett (Twitter) welcomed paranormal researcher and author Susan Sheppard for a discussion on the true story behind the Mothman, and who the Men in Black really are. On November 2, 1966, a man named Woodrow Derenberger was stopped by a charcoal grey craft and a mysterious being within known as Indrid Cold, she reported. According to Sheppard, Indrid Cold was part of what has come to be called the Men in Black. "They seem to be... alien types of creatures — they were not really human even though they looked human," she said, pointing out they tend to show up to threaten witnesses of UFOs and Mothman sightings.

On November 15, 1966, what would later be dubbed the Mothman was seen by the Partridge family on their farm and by Roger and Linda Scarberry 96 miles away in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, she reported. "They both saw a six-and-a-half to seven-foot tall humanoid type of creature with a wingspan of about ten feet," Sheppard said, noting the Scarberry's reported to police the creature flew after them and the wings actually hit the side doors of the vehicle. An hour earlier, Merle Partridge discovered a dark figure inside his barn with eyes that appeared as red rotating electrical lights, she continued, adding Linda Scarberry also described red lights for eyes. Sheppard also shared the story of The Banshee Of Marr Town and other Appalachian lore.

Open Lines was featured during the latter part of the show. Tim in Pittsburg wondered if the Mothman sightings in the 1960s could be connected to sasquatch encounters in Derry Township, Pennsylvania, which took place around the same time. The Derry creatures also reportedly had glowing red eyes and were associated with UFOs, he revealed. Orville from Fort Worth, Texas, claimed to have seen a UFO this evening before the show. "It was two lights moving fast, jet-like, going in the air," he recalled, noting he was in shock at the sighting.

Don in Kent, Ohio, told Ian about a supposed jointly-operated human and alien underground facility near Dulce, New Mexico, where a battle occurred between special forces and the extraterrestrials. According to Don, the aliens had been given special permission to abduct and study humans for the promise of their high technology. About 60 special forces troops were killed when they stormed the underground facility to free the caged human subjects, Don noted.
